*The first Capri production prototypes were built in October 1988 four (4) cars, the second group November 1988 twenty-six (26) cars, the third group in December 1988 thirteen (13) cars. All 43 Capri prototypes were LH drive vehicles produced for quality control, product durability testing, and market research studies. Eventually they were all shipped to the US, and were placed in the Ford company fleet or were crash tested and then destroyed.

Based on Ford's build schedule, 30-40% of total LH & RH Capri production were Turbo XR2s. There are no reliable statistics on how many non-turbos were automatics, had leather interiors, or how many of each color were manufactured. These numbers were maintained by Asian Pacific Auto Operations (APAO) in Australia and to our knowledge were never made public or researched. Of the 66,382 Capri's produced from 1988-1994, it is estimated that fewer than 30% have survived.
