MATERIALS

All of the soft trim used in the interior restoration process is TMI premium high quality expanded vinyl. Seat upholstery and door panels are manufactured from thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride. This petroleum based product is the same material that Ford Motor Company utilized in the sixties and seventies, when Mustangs underwent final assembly and interiors were fitted and installed. To improve the tear and tensile strength of vinyl yard goods, it is manufactured with a backing of knitted cloth fiber. This keeps the vinyl soft, but resilient, and allows the material to support body weight. Chemical compounds are formulated in the vinyl for specific automotive requirements to resist abrasions, cold cracking, delamination, fading and UV sunlight.

All of the floor carpet we use is manufactured to OEM specs by Auto Custom Carpets and is of superior quality. Each carpet set is heat/pressure molded to properly fit the specific Mustang floor pan. Jute backing is applied to add shape, and the correct heel pad is heat sealed to the carpet surface. Cut-pile carpet material is constructed from 100% first quality DuPont Antron nylon yarn. It is tufted on a 1/8 gauge machine with 14 ounces of yarn per square yard. This carpet is color dyed in a continuous range operation, with specific chemicals added to reduce fading. It is also tested and treated for ozone humidity fading & resistance to UV sunlight.

INSTALLATION METHOD The factory soft trim and upholstery is installed over your original metal seat frames.  Foam seat cushions are repaired/reinforced as needed, the pleats are positioned, the upholstery is expanded with heat and hand fitted to the shape of of the seat bolsters.  Then the vinyl fabric is "Hog" ringed to the frames and listing wires.

DETAILS AND REASSEMBLY

We also take care to clean, paint or detail items such as the hinge covers and chrome side moldings.  New O.E.M. correct fasteners, adhesives and required hardware are used in the reassembly of your vehicle.  Under floor rubber seat access plugs are replaced and all interior components are given a final cleaning and inspection prior to delivery.
